o begin with, it is important to note that the experience of river and sea travel is completely different but equally enjoyable. As an Australian, it is easy to access any number of sea voyages from the capital of many provinces and a variety of tourist routes with a wide range of destinations in the Pacific and eastern Asia.

On the other hand, a typical European river trip means a long flight before your trip begins. (More recently when places in South and East Asia have become cruises).

Therefore the first consideration to be made by an Australian person who wishes to sail the costs and time involved in both before the decision is made or both.

Now let me discuss the differences and similarities between each type of sailing.

Our first voyage was on a ship with 2000 passengers and 1,000 crew members while our first voyage had only about 180 passengers. That's the first difference you see. Then you sail from a fourteen-story ship to another three-decent vessel. The river boat was about 135 feet [135 m] long while the cruise ship was about 1,000 feet [300 m] long.

Even if there are two thousand or more passengers traveling with you on a boat, in most cases, there is no sense that the ship is full. On the other hand, riverboats with less than two hundred passengers feel cramped only for dinner as there is only one restaurant. Ocean cruise ships have many dining options.

On a voyage, passengers board the boat each day for a formal voyage as part of their voyage. So there are no scheduled activities on the boat during the day. On the sea voyage, there are plenty of activities on the boat that passengers can enjoy, every day.

The ocean cruise offers a wide range of entertainment from the major theater productions to the most intimate entertainment at various bars or atriums. On our river cruise trip, we had a musician who entertained us with morning tea, afternoon tea and evening giving us a variety of music to suit the time of day. Also, traditional artists from each country or area came to give us their music.

Both boasts offer book trips that can be booked by tourists with a sea voyage offering many additional travel options. On the way to the river, there is something you can see and do every day without being in the boat. First there is the inclusion, which leads to a city tour followed by the opportunity to roam the city at leisure. Some days you might visit two cities. On most sea voyages, there will be days at sea where you can relax or indulge in the activities provided by the ship. On a river trip, most boat movements take place at night.

On the cruise ship, there are a few public places where you can sit and relax. It includes taverns, a library, an online room, pool decks and a large atrium where snacks are served. The river cruise boat has a lounge area that includes a bar and is where the entertainment takes place. The River cruise boat has a solar panel at the top of the boat as well.

Getting in and out of a boat / boat is very easy on river travel just because of the numbers of passengers involved. This means that taking a boat trip is easy and fast.

Sailing, due to the size of the boat and the lack of elevators, can be very difficult for the disabled or the elderly who find it difficult to navigate. The ocean cruise lines can do a good job of caring for the disabled and the elderly.

Making new friends is very easy on a river trip. On larger ships the passengers are like "ships passing by at night". Even if you have friends on the board, you may not meet them any day.

The good things about sailing are:
• You only release once;
• You do not need to spend extra money;
• Food and drink are available as part of the cost of the ship;
• Your regional room is serviced daily; and
• You have many options for what to do or not to do.

The process of getting into a boat can be very difficult for the first time with the two thousand passengers trying to board the ship. Getting into our first boat was a “breeze” in comparison.

Finally, it is important to note that both types of cruises have a lot to offer a traveler. So I suggest that the traveler should try each one at least once. You may be surprised and fascinated by the idea of sailing.
